2013 Malbec Tasting Notes
Tight on opening, but improved by decanting, which speaks to the aging potential of this wine, as it’s still quite young. The 2013 Seed Malbec is a study of power with bold, voluptuous aromas of Italian plums, steeped blackberries and dried herbs—especially bay leaf and sweet tobacco along with a decadent top note of black forest cake. Texturally, fine and firm, mouth coating, tight-grained tannins, along with medium plus acidity (think good food wine). A generous dollop of blue fruit gives depth to layered flavors of black peppercorn, cedar, and even a mineral/saline flourish at the finish.
