“My wife and I opened a bottle of the Red Blend with a roast chicken, hoping that it would pair reasonably well, but not sure exactly what to think. (My wife, in general, is not a fan of new world wines). Immediately, we were both struck with the pronounced aromas that we both described as beautiful and the lovely, deep ruby color. I smelled black fruits, blueberries and vanilla and my wife was struck with cedar and cigar box aromas, as well. Upon tasting, we were equally impressed with the soft tannins balancing the big fruit flavors and crisp acidity. Flavors of black fruits predominated, though I continued to taste blueberries and vanilla throughout. Despite her usual resistance to big red wines from the USA and South America, my wife kept coming back for more and by dinner’s end, the bottle was empty. Thank you for a great dinner experience. We will be back for more! BTW – it went just fine with the roasted chicken – it did not overwhelm the bird!” — Bruce Smoller
